EQUAL EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

 

 

The Lafayette Parish School Board directs that all students enrolled in the schools under its jurisdiction shall be afforded equal educational opportunities in strict accordance with law.  No student shall be excluded from participation in or denied access to or benefit from any educational program or activity or from a co-curricular or athletic activity on the basis of the student’s race, color, creed, religion, national origin, natural, protective, or cultural hairstyle, ancestry, age, marital status, affectational, or sexual orientation or sex, social or economic status, or disability.

 

The Superintendent and/or his/her designee shall investigate any and all complaints which may be brought against the district in regard to any alleged discriminatory action.

 

Student inquiries, concerns, or complaints regarding possible discrimination and/or harassment based on sex should be directed to the Lafayette Parish School Board's Title IX Coordinator.  Student inquiries, concerns, or complaints regarding possible discrimination and/or harassment based on disability should be directed to the Lafayette Parish School Board's Section 504 Coordinator.  Any other student inquiries, concerns, or complaints regarding possible discrimination and/or inequitable treatment should be directed to the school site administrator.
