STUDENT DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Student Driver Education Program is under the jurisdiction of the school principals, their assistants and the Director of Health, Physical Education, Athletics, Drivers’ Education and Student Activities. Locations for the driver education classes shall be determined based on availability of instructors and interest level of the students.
Driver Education is available to all high school students at a fee established annually by the Superintendent and administrative staff.
Each student is to be provided with the following:
Thirty (30) classroom hours (instructional);
Eight (8) hours’ observing in the car; and
Eight (8) hours’ behind-the-wheel experience.
The Student Driver Education Program shall have the following objectives:
To develop in each student the proper values and attitudes toward safe and responsible driving
To develop in each student safe and efficient use of motor vehicle equipment and highways
To develop in each student a strong sense of personal and social responsibility in the operation of motor vehicles
