Information: 2.1 ACADEMICS - Highlight Chinese Immersion - Samec/Olivier/LeBrun
Principal Anne Herrmann from Plantation Elementary presented to the Board the Chinese Immersion students. The students demonstrated how they learn the Chinese language through content instruction and role playing.
Information: 2.2 ACADEMICS- ULL and LPSS Collaboration to support Westside Elementary - Samec/Victorian
Kaye Victorian, Library Science Specialist introduced Dr. Roxanne Bourque, Curriculum and Instruction, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Ms. Monica Briscoe, Westside Elementary School Counselor, Ms. Kerri Calato, Kindergarten teacher, UL Lafayette COE Alumni and ECE teacher candidates and K-1 teachers who hosted a collaborative project of intentionally designed curriculum for the Kindergarten and First Grade students and teachers at Westside Elementary School in response to the losses suffered during the August 2016 flood. The curriculum projects were designed utilizing materials and support from the Carol Ann Richard Media Center.

Charles Beazley with Architects Beazley Moliere, gave an update on the status of the planning for the Comeaux High Performing Arts Academy Building and the site master planning for potential future phases of construction.
