SPECIAL BOARD MEETING

The School Board of the Parish of Lafayette, State of Louisiana, met in special session at its regular meeting place, the Lafayette Parish School Board Administrative Building, Board Room, Lafayette, Louisiana, on Monday, June 29, 2009  at 5:30 P. M., pursuant to notice given in writing to every member.

MEMBERS PRESENT:  Carl J. LaCombe, President; Mark Cockerham, Vice-President; Mark Babineaux, Hunter Beasley, Shelton Cobb, Michael Hefner, Edward Sam, and Rae Trahan, Board Members; Burnell Lemoine, Secretary-Treasurer/Superintendent

MEMBERS ABSENT:  Gregory Awbrey (business)

The Chair called the meeting to order.

I.          APPROVAL OF WORKERS’ COMPENSATION THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATOR

Motion (Trahan, Babineaux) that the Board defer Approval of Workers’ Compensation Third Party Administrator to a Board Workshop on July 15, 2009.  Motion carried.

II.         APPROVAL OF REVISION TO COMPUTING SCHOOL-BASED ADMINISTRATIVE SALARIES USING INDEXING

Motion (Hefner, Sam) that the Board approve revision to Computing School-Based Administrative Salaries using Indexing.  Motion carried.

III.        APPROVAL OF LAFAYETTE PARISH SCHOOL SYSTEM PUPIL APPRAISAL EMPLOYEE’S (1 1/3) Salary Schedule (202 days) for 2009-2010

Motion (Hefner, Cockerham) that the Board approve the Lafayette Parish School System Pupil Appraisal Employee’s (1 1/3) Salary Schedule (202 days) for 2009-2010.  Motion carried.

IV.        APPROVAL OF LAFAYETTE PARISH SCHOOL SYSTEM TEACHERS’ SALARY SCHEDULE (182 DAYS) FOR 2009-2010

Motion (Hefner, Cobb) that the Board approve the Lafayette Parish School System Teachers’ Salary Schedule (182 Days) for 2009-2010.  Motion carried.

V.         SUBMISSION OF eGRANT

The Superintendent informed the Board that an application for the eGrant had to be submitted by June 30, 2009, and that staff will come back for final approval from the Board.

VI.        APPROVAL OF PERSONNEL CHANGES FOR JUNE 29, 2009

7.         ERNEST GALLET-REMEDIATION OF MOISTURE DAMAGE

Motion (Trahan, Sam) that the Board approve the administrative request to move forward with expenditures listed at Schedule A in order to address the remediation of moisture damage at Ernest Gallet Elementary.  Motion carried.

II.         ADJOURN

            There being no further business, it was moved by Hefner, seconded by Sam, and carried that the meeting adjourn.
